The Breed Club

The Canine Breed Club exists for one purpose, and one purpose alone, for its membership, the benefit and well being of the breed.

The Club is led by individuals elected by the membership. That is after ample time has been given for careful contemplation and consideration of the abilities of those names put forward to hold office, or serve on the committee, to run said club in the interest of its members, with nothing more to be considered other than the benefit and well being of the breed.

Apologies for the repeating this, but it has to be recognised as the main reason for the existence of any breed club. Those persons eligible to stand, will have first been vetted by the standing committee, as to their suitability and willingness to serve the breed. It should be noted that such persons fall into two basic categories, being:

1) those there to support with out question The Chairman but without having to do any actual work and whose secondary job is to be critical of any work done by anyone else

2) those who are willing to work under close supervision of The Chairman and at the same time take all the blame for anything that goes wrong, be it their fault or not. Any person considered by the standing committee not to fit into these catalogues will naturally be given the opportunity to withdraw their nomination. Should the committee not have done their sums sufficiently well, and a vote is called for, they will endeavour to ensure only the persons they want be elected, using what ever means they feel justified to use. In the instance of a non desirable person getting onto the committee, probably by default, the standing committee will do their utmost to ensure hat person is made to feel most un welcome.

Those *elected* persons will then do everything in their power to ensure at all times the furtherance of the breed is of the uppermost importance.

At no time will any personal gain (directly or indirectly) be sort, unless it involves:

judging appointments for that person, member of family or close friend assurances that ones dog(s) will achieve good placing at any show judged by a fellow committee member to make quite certain that any health problems seen within the breed are never connected to or with the breeding programme of any serving committee member

4) to ensure these problems are those of the ordinary member, who will of course be expected to follow without question a code of ethics

5) never to follow any recommendations or guidance's given them from outside of the breed, because, after all the committee (or persons closely connected with the committee, are all knowing and should never be doubted, having fulfilled thorough veterinary training

6) to make sure that persons within the club, but are not breeders or exhibitors, are made to feel second class citizens

The Committee to be made up of:

The Chairman who is there to be partial, to look at all sides of arguments and disputes, prior to making a decision that is in the interest of the breed and not individuals. To allow that person to run the club the way he/she wants it run, and that the committee is prepared to back this up at all times. The Chairman must be powerful enough to be able manipulate the rules to suit any circumstance that might occur. To be able to talk or write at length without saying anything. To ensure that no member has the right to stand up for themselves, without fear of reprisal. And to be able to rule the lives of those people who desire to show or judge the breed, by dictatorial actions.

Lastly, and most importantly, The Chairman must insure that the Secretary runs the club under full supervision and that he/she does not allow at any time the committee to have any freedom of thought.

The Secretary is there to serve the committee, within the rules of the club and its regulatory body. To advise and assist on all issues involving the running of the club. To record minutes of all meetings, which shall be double checked by The Chairman to ensure that there is nothing contained there in that shall point any possible finger of blame in his/her direction should any controversial issue have been raised that the person raising and any person discussing said issue are fully recorded by name.

The Treasurer is there to keep records of the club accounts records. After which he/she will often act in other capacities such as making the tea or clearing up at show.

The Committee is made up of a group of people, as discussed above, most of whom will not want to participate in the actual running of club shows unless it is to their benefit. But will of course wish to walk around with a badge indicating who they are. However, should any person approach them for help or assistance, one of a number of pre rehearsed messages will be made.

Here is should also be stressed that the partner of a committee member, must at all times have his/her views taken into consideration, as this may well have some future affect on the breed.
